Florence Eileen Harvey (nee Messent)
1920 -
Eileen (never Florence ) was born 3rd November 1920 at Beggars End Cottages, Finch Hill, the second daughter of William and Florence Messent, and attended Bulmer School.
At quite a young age, she married Douglas Stock from Sudbury who worked on the Suffolk Free Press. They lived in Sudbury. Douglas volunteered for the Irish Guards and was one of the first young men from Sudbury to be killed in France in World War Two.
Eileen moved back to the family home in Church Road Bulmer, and went to work at Cornard Knitting Mills. It was there she met Jack Harvey.
