Beryl Emily May Raymond (nee Palmer)
1927 – 2005

Beryl was born on 23 October 1927 in Malta at the Royal Naval Base where her parents, Harry and Lilian Palmer, were living.

Her young life was spent in Cosham (Portsmouth) where she went to school.

During the war Beryl and her sister were evacuated to Salisbury although their mother brought them home early and they lived through much bombing in the Portsmouth area.

In 1946 Beryl married Peter Raymond and they came to live in Bulmer. They lived in several houses including Lower Houses, Park Lane and Church Road. Beryl and Peter had two daughters, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Lower Houses
Beryl worked part time at the Ballingdon Hall Hotel. Then in 1961 they moved to Bures, and Beryl was employed at a variety of places including CAV in Sudbury and a cheese factory in Bures. She enjoyed dancing and going on holiday.

Beryl died on 18 August 2005 and was cremated. Beryl’s ashes are in Bulmer churchyard
