Emily was baptised in Bulmer on 5th May 1872.
She was the seventh child of Ann and James Bunn of Sandy Lane, Bulmer. Her father was an agricultural worker.
The 1891 census records her living at home and working as a dress maker.

This was a wasting disease but sufferers could live for decades with times of attacks and remissions.
At the time it was thought to be a hereditary disease whereas, actually, it is contagious. It was both a disease of poverty and caused poverty, but Emily lived to a good age and died in 1944 aged 72.
Emily died a spinster and is buried with her sister Sarah Bunn in Bulmer.
